Saturday October 16, 2010 saw the inaugural Kaihui surf comp held in sunshine but with 45kph gusting offshore winds. Newport Peak was a spectacular place to be for the whole day.

Kaihui team riders arrived early along with others from the southern Sydney beaches and mid north coast. First heat in the water was in pretty small waves but as you can see from the pictures below the surf came up and up until the final heats were in 1.5 - 2m barrels just allowing every surfer to have great fun. Kaihui apparel was there to keep those who needed it warm out of the water and the legendary Kaihui wetsuits were performing spectacularly in the chilly water.
